Do you know who Leonard Robinson is? Leonard Robinson of Owings Mills, Maryland is known for visiting hospitalized children dressed as Batman. In July 2012, he visited the Children’s Hospital of Peoria to do just that. In 2012 Robinson spent more than $25,000 on Batman related items for the kids. He bought the kids toys, t-shirts, books, and many other items. On August 16, 2015, Robinson was on his way home from a car show when he had to stop in the fast lane of the highway to check his engine in his Batmobile. While he was checking his engine a car hit the back of his Batmobile and it slammed into him. Leonard Robinson was pronounced dead on the scene.
When he visited kids in the hospital, he made them forget that they were sick. They felt like he was their superhero. Leonard was inspired to become Batman through memories of playing with his young son and seeing the joy that the character brought him as a child. He provided kids with so much hope and made kids happy and whole. He was such a hero because of how he lived his life.
